Fitrana & Fidya Calculator

Work out your household's Sadaqah-e-Fitr, or count the fidya for fasts that could not be kept. Every staple shows its Shariah measure (nisf sa' = 2 kg, full sa' = 4 kg) and its Dar al-Ifta per-person rate — and every rate is editable.

Shariah measure: nisf sa' (half) = 2 kg

Total fitrana

Rs 1,550

Rs 310 per person × 5 people

How the calculation works

Fitrana = the per-person amount × the number of people. Fidya = the per-day amount × the number of missed fasts, where one day equals one person's fitrana. Example: at the wheat rate of Rs 310, five people's fitrana is 310 × 5 = Rs 1,550, and thirty days of fidya is 310 × 30 = Rs 9,300.

For who must pay fitrana and who may receive it, read our complete fitrana guide; for the conditions of fidya, read the fidya guide.

Frequently asked questions

How much is fitrana per person this year?+

For Ramadan 1447 Hijri / 2026 in Pakistan, Dar al-Ifta (Minhaj-ul-Quran) published: wheat flour Rs 310, barley Rs 1,180, medium dates Rs 2,400, raisins Rs 4,800, cheese Rs 8,000 and high-quality dates Rs 20,000 per person. Pick the staple that matches your own standard of living, and if market prices have moved since the announcement, edit the amount before you calculate.

Why is wheat 2 kg but the other staples 4 kg?+

In Fiqh-e-Hanafi, wheat is given as nisf sa' — half a sa' — while barley, dates, raisins and similar foods are a full sa'. Dar al-Ifta weighs nisf sa' of wheat flour as 2 kg and the full sa' of the others as 4 kg on its poster; the calculator shows the measure next to every staple.

How much fidya is owed for 30 missed fasts?+

One day's fidya equals one person's fitrana. At the wheat rate of Rs 310, thirty days come to 310 × 30 = Rs 9,300. Use the fidya tab above with your own number of days and the staple your household follows.

Who can pay fidya instead of fasting?+

Only someone for whom fasting is permanently out of reach — the very elderly whose strength will not return, or a lasting illness with no expected recovery. Everyone else (a traveller, a patient expected to recover, menstruation, pregnancy-related breaks) must make the fasts up later; fidya does not replace qada for them.

When must fitrana be paid?+

Fitrana is owed from dawn on Eid day and should reach the poor before the Eid prayer, so they can share in the day. Paying in the last days of Ramadan is allowed and common. If it is missed, it remains owed and should be paid as soon as possible.
